Company has also planned to increase the existing production capacity of our pellet plant at Raigarh from 2 MTPA to 2.50 MTPA within
the next one year. The proposed expansion is expected to help your Company to reduce the cost of pellet production per tonne and to improve sales volume.
In financial year 2019, steel production was 106.56 MT

Mandate:
The Audit Committee of the Board of Directors is constituted
in line with the provisions of Regulation 18 of the SEBI Listing
Regulations read with Section 177 of the Companies Act,
2013. The Audit Committee is governed by Charter/terms
of reference which is in line with the regulatory requirements
mandated under section 177 of the Companies Act, 2013 and
Regulation 18 of the SEBI Listing Regulations.
Summary of Activities:
During the year under review, the Companys revenue from operations was 1879.41 crores as against 1419.09 crores in the previous year. The Companys Profit Before Depreciation Interest and Tax (PBDIT) was 27.68 crores in the financial year ended 31st March, 2019 as opposed to PBDIT of 72.84 crores in the immediate preceding year.
In August 2018, Monnet Ispat & Energy Limited (MIEL), has been acquired jointly by a consortium of Aion Investments Private Limited (AION) and JSW Steel Limited.

Sponge Iron |
NA | Sponge iron is formed through the reduction of iron ore to metallic iron through reaction with carbon in the form of coal, etc. at approx. 1100 degree Celsius. Sponge iron is also referred to as direct reduced iron, metalized iron, or hot briquetted iron.
Sponge iron is used in the iron and steel industry as a substitute for scrap in induction and electrical arc furnaces. Over the years, the shortage of expensive melting scrap has made sponge iron a significant raw material for manufacturing high quality steel. In India, the abundance of Iron Ore deposits has led to absorption of the renowned by the Indian industry and use of ore lumps and fines has led to the country becoming the largest producer of sponge iron in the world. |
