Research & Development and Scientific Services division of Tata Steel Limited at Jamshedpur, India set up in 1937 as the ‘Research and Control Laboratory’ was one of its kind in India. Its three departments–Research and Development, Scientific Services and Refractory Technology Group–support the Tata Steel group.
