Introduction: * Synthesis and characterization of spinel and perovskite type oxides for electrocatalysis of oxygen evolution and reduction, effect of synthesis route, starting materials, dopants, pH and concentration on the electrocatalytic activity of oxide electrodes.
* Corrosion evaluation, testing, protection and corrosive failure analysis.
* Development of corrosion protective coatings (sol-gel electrodeposition and electroless coatings).
* Surface modification through plasma nitriding for wear, fatigue and corrosion resistance enhancement.
